Bio

 

Anna Crowley (B.A. (Hons), M.A. (Psych), Grad Dip Gest. Th., C.E.L.T.A.) is a Melbourne-based yoga teacher [YTAA] , counsellor and provisional psychologist. She has been practising yoga since 1994 and was trained in creative and Viniyoga styles at Mangala Yoga Studios. Her love of body awareness methods has also led her to study creative dance, contact improvisation and zen meditation.

Anna studies Alexander Technique with Noelle Reese-Hatton and travels regularly overseas to train in yoga with Diane Long and Sophy Hoare who are teachers of yoga in the tradition of Vanda Scaravelli. Anna has taught regular classes at yoga schools in Melbourne, fitness and recreation centres, corporations and conferences.

Anna holds a Graduate Diploma in Gestalt Therapy and her Masters degree examined the psychological and physiological effects of yoga on wellbeing. With extensive research and policy experience in mental health, her counselling work blends moment to moment awareness with an understanding of systems frameworks. She currently specialises in the needs of families of people with mental health issues.
